In the afternoon on 14 December, China Re Group and China Taiping Insurance Group Ltd. (“TPG”) entered into a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. Yuan Linjiang, the Chairman of China Re Group, He Chunlei, the President of China Re Group, and Luo Xi, the Chairman of TPG, attended the signing ceremony. Zhao Wei, the Vice President of China Re Group, and Hong Bo, the Deputy General Manager of TPG, signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.

　　A conference was held by the parties prior to the signing ceremony. Yuan Linjiang, the Chairman, welcomed Luo Xi, the Chairman, and his party. He stated that China Re Group and TPG are of the same blood, and has maintained a good cooperation in the areas of primary insurance and reinsurance. He hoped that both sides will commence a deepened cooperation in the fields of exchange and cooperation with overseas institutions, risk diversification mechanisms for agricultural insurance and catastrophe insurance, and serving the businesses of “Belt and Road Initiative” working on this basis.

　　Luo Xi, the Chairman, expressed his gratitude to the long-term support given by China Re Group to TPG. He stated that China Re Group has a solid professionalism in the field of reinsurance and TPG needs the support of reinsurance in the course of planning overseas development, serving the “Belt and Road Initiative” and participating in the insurance arrangement of large-scale projects abroad. Looking forward, TPG will actively participate in the cooperation in certain specialist areas led by China Re Group. Both sides can continue to explore and strengthen the cooperation in aspects of primary insurance and reinsurance arrangement, domestic and overseas projects, investment and fund raising, and the opening up of domestic and overseas channels of capital flows.

　　The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement marks the commencement of an all-rounded and multiple cooperation between both parties in aspects of primary insurance, reinsurance, insurance service business and investment, which will effectively integrate their resources, create a strategic cooperation partnership of risks bearing, benefits sharing and sustainability, and better serve the national strategy and the development of real economy.
